Having got to the point of 8 wires connected, do the trailer lights work correctly, including the reversing lights of your trailer, if fitted?

If so then the remaining four wires should be two earths and two positive feeds. We can go on from there if the light check is good. Cheers

Seriously, can't help on the colours as mine is a 2011, but PF Jones have some info on their website and a search for wiring on their site and others you can think of on your year should help. If not the worst would be to buy a new loom from a supplier like Jones (expensive) or elsewhere for your model year.

If you have the lights working properly when you test as fitted now, then I think the remaining four wires are 2 live and 2 earth.

I have single 7 pin and want to convert to single 13 pin.
I’m guessing I need to buy the complete kit ie. wiring and the module ?
I assume I can’t just replace the wiring and keep the 7 pin module?

Have a look in the boot nearside of the spare wheel well and see if you have the connector there fully populated.

I assume so, I have all the colour codes sorted on that connector so you can wire either 2 x 7 or 13 pin. BMW i3 Electric Car
