Adaptive Headlights

I have just bought a 2010 model year 3.6 TDV8 autobiography. Do they have adaptive lighting as standard and how do I check? I have sat stationary and turned the wheel but no additional lights come on, although the previous owner claimed it has it. There is a warning light on the dash that does go off, indicating all is good. Any help please for a newbie!

Start the car at night and see if the light beam does a dance on the wall / garage door, otherwise turn steering wheel hard left or hard right and the beam should go in that direction, very easy to see. 2015 4.4 AB

Mine are not doing that, but there is a warning light that goes off after a few seconds. Previous owner said it has them including an additional light that comes on. Maybe there is a fault or I have been spun a yarn! Thanks though.

I don't think the later ones do the light dance when you turn the lights on like the earlier ones...

If you've got adaptive lights, you should get an orange indicator bottom left of the LCD dash when you start up, looks like a headlight symbol pointing forwards with left/right arrows on it.

When you are driving, you should be able to notice the lights following the steering direction when you are going along, but it is subtle.

Below 35ish MPH you should also get an additional LED light in the headlight cluster come on when you make a reasonably tight turn which lights up the road next to you - this should be pretty obvious...

If I remember rightly the lights only do the dance if the light switch is in the Auto mode position.

Thanks all and sorry for the delayed response. Mine don’t do the dance but the LED light is very noticeable at low speed. Mystery solved Thumbs Up
