i recently have noticed a lack of performance in my car 2005 td6

anyway, was worried it was the turbo, had a burst hose and got a lot of oil everywhere

so recently have been looking at live values of the engine using my iid tool

does anyone know of a source of what expected values are

for boost pressure and boost activator

and others maybe

I can’t help with live values, but the symptoms you describe could very well be a leaking intercooler. I had to replace mine because it had sprung many, many pinhole leaks. Performance would be ok, then drop off intermittently and be barely driveable before turning to ok again. There was a fine mist of oil over everything in the very front of the engine bay, visible easily when the grill was removed. When I washed the car I’d get an oil slick underneath the front.

Replacement wasn’t technically difficult, but tight for space. I just about managed to remove and replace through the LHS wheel arch, but cursing and swearing was involved. The proper way is to dismantle the front end.

Once intercooler was replaced, everything was fine. Current: 2010 Range Rover L322

did you notice a drop in MPG too?

I can't say I did notice a drop in MPG, but that's probably got more to do with me having learned that not checking MPG keeps me sane over 11 years of FFRR ownership! Logically, MPG must have been terrible. The same amount of fuel was being injected, but much of it must have been ejected unburned through the exhaust because of lack of air intake. My natural reaction was to press accelerator down further, which would have just made it worse.

Another symptom might be a whistling sound when revs are up, although that suggests there is only a small leak and in my case, there were so many small leaks that I just don't think the pressure could build successfully.
