I can’t help with live values, but the symptoms you describe could very well be a leaking intercooler. I had to replace mine because it had sprung many, many pinhole leaks. Performance would be ok, then drop off intermittently and be barely driveable before turning to ok again. There was a fine mist of oil over everything in the very front of the engine bay, visible easily when the grill was removed. When I washed the car I’d get an oil slick underneath the front.

I can't say I did notice a drop in MPG, but that's probably got more to do with me having learned that not checking MPG keeps me sane over 11 years of FFRR ownership! Logically, MPG must have been terrible. The same amount of fuel was being injected, but much of it must have been ejected unburned through the exhaust because of lack of air intake. My natural reaction was to press accelerator down further, which would have just made it worse.
