Site Newbie: Air Suspension and Acceleration

Morning,

I have a 2006 4.4 V8 and have a couple of strange faults:

1) The car has an intermittent air suspension fault, a warning comes up on the dash "Air Suspension Fault", but the car remains at normal ride height. Stopping / re-starting clears the fault. The fault also appears if the ignition key is inserted one way round, simply removing and re-inserting the other way round clears the fault.

2) The car has only done 70k miles, but the engine feels very rough under acceleration (felt through pedal) and does not sound as I would expect. Once at cruising speed it is fine.

Any ideas gratefully received.

David

Unfortunately I do not have a code reader, I was hoping to have a rough idea what could be wrong before taking it to a garage.

there alot things for both, it would be worth get something like this as you will need it more in future..

codes tend to help alot otherwise end up trying or replacing things that dont need to be replaced.

Then you will need a diagnostic tool.

A simple OBD reader will possibly provide you with codes for any engine faults

but you will need a better piece of kit to handle the air suspension fault, sounds like a soft one if it resets after ignition cycle.

An IIDTool or similar may seem expensive, but it pays for itself very quickly!! .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink
