Heater blower advice - 2011 Autobiography

Hi all, just registered but been an avid reader of all the expert advice for a few years. I've just upgraded from a 2003 TD6 Vogue to a 2011 TDV8 4.4 Autobiography.

I need some advice - the front heater fan stopped working today. All the controls seem to work and I can feel Heat through the vents when moving, so looks like it's the blower. I know about the FSR issue on earlier models, but is this still the case with the later 2011 vehicles?

Any help greatly received.

Congrats! Pix pls!

Your knob's got two leds in the middle - one's for auto temp and the other's for auto fan.

Do the the LEDs around the knob light up when you crank up the dial? This turns auto to manual and the centre led will turn off.

Let us know...

. Cheers, Greg

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll get some pics loaded in the My RR section.

All the controls appear to work fine in both manual & auto modes - so all the right lights come on - just no fan blowing.

Yes, the FSR issues still apply to 2011 models.....at least it did to mine.

I think my FSR failed because the fan stopped cooling it and caused it to overheat, regardless, I had to replace the FSR and the fan.

One is cheap and easy, the other is erm ....not!

Mike

Brilliant, thanks Stan. I've got a spare, new FSR already (bought it just in case for my old TD6) so will have a go at changing it today - before the beast from the east returns Very Happy

Thanks Mike, I'll change the FSR today & see what happens. I've got a warranty, so the blower motor should be covered if it needs replacing.
