A couple of weeks ago I took my son skiing down to meribel in the Alps south of France. We've done this trip many times in the Past both Summers and Winters in x5s and Cayennes.

The only preparation needed was to get a set of snow chains (I got the K summit k77 s - and with these spare alloys put a set
of winter tyres on. I chose the Hankook I cept 2 s they got good reviews and camskill.co.uk did a good price.

The car was amazing. It didn't put a foot wrong. Overall managed 35 mpg over 1200 miles. The overall feeling was one of supreme comfort. Having done that Jenny many times come over commented on how refreshed we felt after the journey and how much easier and more relaxed we were upon arrival and less tired. It really did make the journey very easy indeed.

It felt surefooted throughout even though some of the conditions were very treacherous driving out.

Looking forward to the next trip down in a couple of weeks time.

I once drove down to Morzine in the worst snow in years (2011) and my 2002 td6 L322 took it all in its stride. I drove 11 hours straight (except for one fuel stop) and then got out and skied for a whole day.

Have driven to the alps many times in different vehicles and none felt so secure and safe and capable .... and so comfortable!

Thanks vogue. It was my very first FFRR and my favourite (except for the agricultural engine). Bought her unseen from a car auction in 2009 for £11,000 and she was the most comfortable drive and seats and never had one thing go wrong in nearly 3 years. Never changed a thing on her. All original. Sold it to a mucker in the gunners (not the football type) and she was still going strong with nearly 150,000 miles on her and original gearbox. Bow down Bow down
