just run as you do now....if and when the yellow dpf warning comes up then run it at 50mph for about 10-20 minutes to clear it..

I got the yellow warning last October. Once the engine was warm, I used a little more right foot for acceleration while keeping it in lower gears (in the lakes at the time) for around 10-15 mins, that cleared it for me, just needs to get hot. |

I too do lots of short runs. Stan's advice worked for me. Just let the engine get up to temperature then go for your 50mph+ drive. Holding the car in lower gears to get the revs up - as some people advised me - doesn't need to be done. What do I put here then? |

tI found in my freelander than ragging the nuts off the engine to clear the DPF was a waste of time. As mentioned above, driving normally between 50 and 70-mph seemed to be far more effective at clearing it.

if it does make a sound you wouldnt hear it over the engine/road noise.... ... - .- -.

I didn't think the TDV8 3.6 had a DPF, I thought it was only introduced in the 4.4? |
