L322 BMW petrol Air Filter lid refit

Just changed the filter element, it was filthy, every thing went back except for the front clip. I just don't have the power in my fingers anymore, any ideas on how to clip it on?
For those of you who don't know the filter box is up tight to the slam panel/grille, just enough room to get fingers in, did it fine last year but not this time.

Doesnt matter what tool you use to try and snap it back in to place, it will simple go ping and drop in to the bowels of the engine bay never to be seen again...

I use a magnet on a stick to hold it up and pry in on with a screwdriver.
