Struggling to start

The car turns over for ages and then coughs and splutters to life and kicks quite a bit of smoke out
I’ve replaced fuel filter
Battery is good
Both fuel pumps are working correctly
Glow plugs and relay checked

It’s not showing any fault codes

Stonie110,

if glow plugs and relays are OK, pumps are working, new fuel filter - next suspect must be injectors.

I use 2T oil (1/2 litar per tank) and it works cleaning and lubricating the injectors.

If it's a TDV8, read on......
Or, as happened to me after replacing the fuel filter, I had to bleed an air lock in the fuel system.
Take the top plastic cover off the engine and as you look at the engine from the front, look dod what looks like a bicycle tyre valve. Press it down until fuel comes out and Bob's your auntie! Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Check the HP pump pressure relief valve on the back of the pump with a diagnostic tool the lp pump should read 3 bar the HP should be about 300 bar.
