The sat nav screen stayed on and flattened my battery

I went to a shoot yesterday. Didn't us e the car all day but went and grabbed kit from it occasionally, locking the car afterwards. When I came to drive home, dead battery. Hmmmm. Got the car going easily enough. Got home, unloaded some of the stuff (guns etc), locked the car. Went to get some more stuff, locked the car. 20 mins later, went to get more stuff and - as I approached the car, before I unlocked it - I could see the sat nav screen on, showing the land rover splash image.

So the car apparently had been sitting there for 20 mins without it shutting down. I tried unlocking and locking but it stayed on. I got in the car and started the car, turned it off and the screen only then turned off.

Any thoughts as to why it is doing this?

Thanks. I probably got stuff out the car about 5 or 6 times during the day and often stood around the back of the car chatting to the other guns (so I guess the Bluetooth was staying awake too). Could easily have had the splash screen / systems on for a couple of hours.

if the battery isnt up to scratch then this kind of activity will flatten it, mine went down when the window tinter was moving the rear windows up and down to apply the tint film and having the ignition on for long periods...
