Retro fit privacy glass

Is it possible to fit retro fit privacy glass rather than tint?

I think privacy glass is just a heavy tint film applied at the factory, so yes? "YYS" G4 FFRR

That's what I thought, I have seen a potential vehicle to purchase but it doesn't have privacy glass, I am wondering if tinting is an option or will it look cheap and tacky.

when purchasing mine it didnt have dark glass so the dealer agreed to tint them and it looks ok, but you need to take care and not scratch the film with stuff you carry..

I think the cost of new glass and the fitting would make it uneconomical and add little to no value to the car.

Take it to a good window tint company instead.

Wouldn't bother. Even used glass and fitting plus tinting the rear glass only would be more than just tinting all of the rear glass.

Get them all tinted or leave it as it is. Alex

Aftermarket tints show all the heating elements, get damaged very easily, and look pants. I bought a D3 which had this and I had it removed. A complete set of genuine glass for the D3 (rear doors, rear quarters and tailgate) was just shy of 1400 quid from a dealer I used to use. Autoglass chappie charged me 200 quid to fit as a private job.

If you buy genuine glass you must quote the chassis number since there are so many options for aerials etc.
