also - is the supercharger on a clutch? Sorry I don't know anything about that engine but my boat had supercharged engines with a clutch to engage it at certain rpms. Same as an AC clutch. The clutches, the v-belts and the idler pulleys used to give whining noises..

Well they have just replaced the supercharger and I am £3k poorer to prove it but the whine I originally took it in for is still there, they have assured me that the supercharger needed replacing anyway (what else would they say?) but have accepted that the whine is still there. No doubt there is another expensive item that needs replacing - what a joke and a bad one at that. Geoff |

Thanks kp probably shutting the door after the horse has bolted now - so to speak, obviously a trip to CTC (160 miles each way) all of a sudden looks like good value (even with an overnight stay) but like I said shutting the door after the horse has bolted. Geoff |

If they can’t find the whine though it’s still going to be money well spent as the whine may well be found and maybe the used SC is worth something if it’s not totally knackered? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
