the trouble with lifting on the arm is that they are not parallel to the ground so you can't get a firm place to jack from, this is further compounded by the suspension dropping as the car is lifted... It is normally ok with a professional standard jack, especially if it has a rubber cup pad, as they tend to be 4-5 " in diameter and will still give support if there is some movement. Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... How about this jack? Just keeping it in the truck won't harm the longevity of the jack?

Pro-Lift B-006D Grey Hydraulic Bottle Jack - 6 Ton Capacity https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DGXVX18/ref=c...rzbQK9KB2N

NOPE!! it's a single stage lift, the Mercedes Sprinter jacks are telescopic 2 stage, which gives them almost twice the lift of a standard bottle jack.

The 2 stage lift doesn't make sense to me. What is the difference of having a manual screw-top to get the jack to touch the jack point and having a jack that has more hydraulic travel? Shouldn't 8" of hydraulic lift be plenty to raise a wheel off the road?

I changed all 4 wheels on mine yesterday using my modified Sprinter jack.
It was half-way up the second piston before the wheel was off the ground .
Combined with the wheel fitting guides bought from here on the forum , job completed in a couple of hours.
2 excellent pieces of kit, well worth investing in. G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

miggit is right, the arm is not parallel to the ground, but only in the off road height. however , arm has saddle like part where our "Mighty Jack" fits rather nicely. the pictures are taken with the car in normal height.

and because we are lifting the wheel and not the car suspension will not drop, . if one had 4 jacks like this you could lift all 4 wheels and ECU would not know the car is off the ground.
I was able to lift the wheel 1 1/4" with only first stage of the jack.
and here is pic, with wheel off

in the back there is nice spot for the jack too

this is with car in off road height

and here it is British engineered "Italian Job"

I love well made piece of equipment. Smile

Hi, Im a new member here and I am thankful for a great forum for my Rangies. I have L 322 TDV8 self and I by a jack adapter from my Norvegian forum NLRF or LR forum.com. The adapter are developed and produced by our moderator. The adapter changes out with the orginal top foundation on the MB sprinter or WV Crafter jack. Thise adapter was produced on a mechanical school and wil fit perfect attached to the body guard underneath the car.

Just modded my sprinter Jack this weekend.

For info it does fit under the car with steps extended and locked.

Changed all 4 wheels again this weekend using “sprinter”.

The jack fits into the jacking point, front or back, with car at normal ride height and is half way up second piston when wheels clear of ground.

My primary jack is two stage Disco jack. that is in the car all time. my second jack is generic 3T one stage jack with modified head, so it fits in the reces on the car. with piece of 2x6 undernneath it will lift the wheel of the ground cc-1 1/2".

You could try a wanted ad on here.
I may have dreamt it, but I think someone posted that the sprinter is Not usable on the L405, so someone who has traded up may have one to sell ?
