Terraclean on my tdv8

I have had my Range Rover for a year and a half and love it. I wanted to see if I can improve its performance so I argued with myself on numerous occasions as to whether I should get a Terraclean. Is it just a gimmick? Will it make the changes it claims? So I thought Censored it!!! I got the Standard Terraclean with the additional egr and dpf clean. What can I say about it? WOW!!!!!! It bloody works!!! The throttle response was INSTANT. The fuel consumption was the same, the black diesel smoke......gone!!! The emissions plummeted. This system claims to clean inside the engine, the exhaust, the injectors, the turbos etc and I would say it does. Word of warning though, shop about for prices though. You would expect the price to be of a 'Standard' price, eh no!!!! By phoning around the difference in price was over £120!!!! Well worth it though.

And worth noting it has been known to destroy some engines after a while. Just worth bearing in mind.

Nice first post Rolling Eyes

I had a terraclean done on my D3. Waste of an hour of my time, and £100

Now looking for someone to do another one of my cars, with before and after dyno runs to put this Censored to bed

Had the intake only version done and made ZERO difference, glad I didn't pay full price.

The best medicine for any engine is use it, don't tickle the throttle and keep it under 2k trying to get 100MPG.

Think of them as a living breathing thing, treat them like a slob treats his body, they get fat, colesterol blocks the arteries, don't exercise and joints seize up etc

Engines are no different, they'll soot up and carbon up and things like swirl flaps, EGR valve, VGTs will seize/stick. Current

Interesting that you paid extra for a DPF clean, even more interesting that a 2007 TDV8 doesn't have a DPF! Whistle Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Even a Dyno before & after IMO would poss. give a false read. Let's say it's just higher octane fuel in the system - to get a true before and after you'd have to drain that tank and put reg. fuel in and only then you could get a true test.

But I think pretty clear what this 'first post' really is... Cheers, Greg

Playing Devil's Advocate for a moment....

Why is is that Terraclean is fairly universally rubbished, usually by those with no experience of it, yet there does seem to be a bit of support for stuff like BG244 or 2SO in the fuel etc.

I have no personal axe to grind here, I reckon it's all snake oil. I have never subscribed to premium fuels, additives, or the such like but I am curious as to why some are favoured and others not.
