Ive had a search for this but I cant find a reference that seems to fit my problem. Some time ago the drivers door lock ceased working through the remote or dash switch (common problem) but I wasn't too concerned as I could lock/unlock the door with the key. I replaced the lock today, but not only does the new one not work - the external lock wont work either. I have swapped the locks back thinking that if it goes back to how it was I am no worse off, but the external lock still wont work. Where it used to work smoothly it is now very difficult to turn the key either way and wont lock/unlock at all. I am reduced to locking the door by opening the rear passenger door and pressing down the button and opening it by getting in the passenger side and pulling the catch. I have read that there can be an obstruction problem when feeding the button up into its hole, but this doesn't seem to be like that. I have given up in frustration for today, but tomorrow I will try the fuses or a battery re-set, but I wondered if there were any other suggestions..... QUID FACIUM TIBI

BCM - this controls the power steering and the remote locking. It is situated under the passenger seat. Check the connections (sometimes they can become disconnected through catching on the passenger seat when it is moved forward or backwards.)

It may require a replacement BCM.

When you replaced the door card, there are some clips on the top , that you have to push the door card into, these sometimes drift over by the locking button and stop it going down(ask me how I know)
Failing that, inside the door, just by the torx screws. you undid to replace the lock, is a rubber bung, take it out, inside you will find a allen head screw. Manually lock the door with a screwdriver, door open, this is the latch that catches on the door post, now undo the allen head screw and re tighten, off hand I think its left handed, this resets the lock, unlock door.
hope its a simple fix.

The lock button goes up and down full travel without any difficulty when the door is closed so I dont think that is the problem. I will try removing the outer lock tomorrow to see if I have routed the button incorrectly and fouled the locking mechanism. At least if I can sort that I will be able to go back to locking/unlocking the door with the key. QUID FACIUM TIBI
