Hey.
New to the forum, though lurked a lot over the last several cars.
I had a 2009 TDV8 Vogue Lux in Aus, but moved over to the US for work last year. Bought a 2012 5LV8 HSE over here - nice engine upgrade, but I'm missing my TV/DVD which I honestly thought were standard in Range Rovers these days. I mean, w else is a bloke to do when the Mrs is in the shops
Had a quick look in the 'trunk' & I don't even think they fitted AV units to L322s over here. I don't have the red / wife / yellow AV in plugs at the back of the centre console - only a rather drab 3.5mm jack input.
I also know I have no DVD player apart from the slot in ones in the headrests for the back passengers & I can't see a TV tuner in the rack either. I guess it's because there is no broadcast TV in the States, being a cable TV country & all.
Anyway, I was thinking to throw some tech at the problem & install something like the Kivic-one so I could mirror my iPhone onto the HUD since I can get TV on my phone here (http://kivic-one.com/en/shop/#!/Kivic-ONE-Rev1-1/p/35504379/category=0), but in order to do that I'm thinking I might need to add an AV module first.
Looking around, all I can find is this rather expensive option from ToysInYourCar (http://www.toysinyourcar.com/acatalog/AV_Input_Range_Rover_2010_Model.html), so I though to check out the forums to see if anyone had any bright ideas to leverage kit I may already have on board.
The HUD must have some AV in ports in the back, right? Or is it just a dumb monitor & needs an AV interface upstream to receive / decode / send video to it?
Would love your thoughts.
Cheers
Jof
