BMW's Evoque

I'm no fan of the Evoque, but now BMW has designed a new car called the "Paceman" In my eyes It's a cheaper version and and I would much prefer to drive the Evoque round.Click Here

Can a Mini really be classed as a competitor to a Range Rover, even the Evoque, I think not.

No, but by the same token can the Evoque be classed as a Range Rover by the tradional understanding of what "Range Rover" means?

In which case what's wrong with a big "MINI"? Laughing

RRV I'm sure you are too young to remember but BL was only a product of the 1970's - Land Rover used to be part of the British Motor Corporation in the 1960's and before that The Rover Car Company.................... but I cannot remember that far back being a child of the late 1950's. Whistle Of course between BL and BMW LR was part of Austin-Rover Group under the chairmanship of Michael Edwardes - Land Rover was also about the only part of the group that didn't have any models that were "badge-engineered" versions of other parts of the group, they have always had a unique to LR range of vehicles unlike such horrors as the various versions of minis like the Riley Elf and the Wolsey Hornet - the Austin Cambridge and the Morris Oxford and numerous versions of other designs all based on the same basic car but badged to appear to be something else!
I cannot see the pics of the Cajun and the Mini whatever as they take too long to download on my wireless connection - but I did see the mini Countryman 4x4 in the local mini showroom before I left the UK and though it and the BMW X1 were both vying with the Cayenne for the ugliest car on the road title 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

How could you slur the Morris Oxford (family car from my childhood) and the Riley Elf and Wolsely Hornet (first/second cars for my sister that I had to keep on the road!)

Anyway, they must have identified a market somewhere for these cars - Evoque, Paceman, Cajun, Juke.

If I wanted to drive around in a tiny 4x4 I'd get one of these:
