3.6 TDV8 Squeeking and Chirping

My 3.6 TDV8 FFRR started to develop strange noise that was not there earlier. Some sort of a roller, belt noise that seems to be coming from behind front bumper, somewhere in the lower part and middle of the car. Cause of this does not seem to be visible from above when hood is open, my mechanic will try to locate it from under the car on wednesday. But maybe someone experienced similar issue? Noise is heard only at idle, dissapears with even smallest revs. Please see video below:



On a side note, car also sometimes does some chirping, squeeking when revved and this is actually noticeable in video number two, posted below. These two noises do not seem to be related in any way, the chirping when revved was there for like a year and sometimes it is there sometimes it is not:

I think you're already heading in the right direction, belt, pulley bearing or perhaps alternator.

Maybe try spraying some water on the belt to see if it makes any difference.

My one has similar noises.
Has had a slight whooping noise all summer. Developed into slight belt slip if revved up and at lower revs sounds like a bag of spanners.
Ordered new drive belt, tensioner and idler and will have it to bits the weekend and see if that shuts it up!
Using the D4 van during the week just in case.

Well has anyone solved this yet?
Spent a few hours this morning taking the front of the car apart, changed drive belt, tensioner and an idler.
No blooming difference.
Now not sure if it's the AC pump or the left turbo.

Goes really well and you can get the noise to change running the AC FLAT OUT.
Not sure if that's just the load on the belt or what?

Someone give me a clue?

the first noise sounds like a bearing its quite high pitched, could be one of the pulleys. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Well I gave up guessing today and went to the grease monkeys!
They suggest it's an air leak on a hose or gasket down underneath on the left or nearside.
Fingers crossed they find it easily and quickly and the parts are no too dear!?
Thought I might have to change cars sooner than planned!

I got it back last week after they had it for three or four weeks.
Larger bill than expected and still a few reassembly issues to be solved.
I have a new nearside manifold, gaskets, studs etc.
The old one had warped and snapped studs.
This meant getting snapped studs out the head and getting it all back together.

Now needs the steering wheel alignment sorting as it's not level in straight line.
The ecu has the wrong date in it somehow as it's now saying inspection due 02 2005! It's a 2007 car!
I think they have lost the autologic remap as it has lots less pull. Goes okay, but nothing like it used to.
Also discovered a shimmy/vibration at high cruising speed! Possibly propshaft coupling from them dropping out the subframe to do the work?

Anyone else fixed there noise?

Dealt with one of these just this week, albeit on a 3.6 Sport





Stud out, manifold skimmed flush again, new stud and gasket, and it was all fine Thumbs Up

My one was like a banana apparently and the reason for new manifold with most of the bottom studs snapped.
Suppose it will be other side next or is this a rare occurrence?

Not uncommon...

A new manifold for a Sport is in the region of £700 each, hence why that one was skimmed. It was pretty bad too

I have the same noise as in video 2. I’m pretty Censored off if it turns out to be the manifold having just bought the car.
