If you have park heating (no fob) is it possible/practicable to retrofit remote functionality? 2016 (L405) Autobiography in Black with Ivory - for ULEZ

I have a 2012 autobiography with the park heating remote yesterday morning -3 I used it and it seems to be blowing just cold air around, it didn't defrost the screen only the mirrors, no heat in the cabin and I used it on two cycles, although I could hear fans going and could smell fumes, but no smoke when I started the car the temp gauge was still clap cold to, which I understand it should warm the coolant a few degrees and move the gauge, anyone any ideas or similar problems? Thanks Berty

That sounds broken Berty.

The way to check it is to run a cycle it should start the fans, then start the heater fan, then prime the burner, then kick up. at which point you should be able to hear a quiet ticking from the pump at the rear of the car. It should take about 60 secs to get up and running at the most.

It will take a little time to warm the coolant through and probably won't display much change in temp on the dash. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

The engine temperature gauge won't show anything because the engine is isolated out of the coolant loop when the FBH is running alone . If it wasn't all that would happen during the FBY cycle is the the engine block would take all the heat for a net gain of a couple of degrees . 2008 MY Supercharged

Does anyone know if there is a service interval for the FBH? I'm thinkig of things like changing the air filter or cleaning the glow plug/flame sensor and injector? I can imagine things getting pretty clogged up if the air flow gets restricted Shocked 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

no service interval for them. they are pretty clean burning if running correctly. They are easily accessed though, just the inner arch liner which needs to come off. then the hoses can be clamped and the unit removed. Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

In what shape is you battery? Mostly everything depends on VOLTAGE,second air temperature and etc.... Check user manual. Everything says there...

I’ve just pick up this thread....being a new owner Aug 18.....I’m looking to see if my 2011 VSE aux heater works. So far I get nothing out of it. I can only change the set time but I don’t have a remote fob. Do I need a remote fob?
Seems to be a disappointing feature if it doesn’t work! Any ideas guys?
Regards
Mark

Manual via fob is an option I think. It’s fitted to help the car warm up on cold days. It’s not a disappointing feature. You being able to set it to come on is just part of what it does....

That said, it only runs for about 20min and warms the interior slightly and demises the windows. I’ve never noticed the temp gauge being any different when I start the car though.

Does anyone have any pictures or diagrams to show where the heater is located on a 2011 Vogue SE?

I get no heat anywhere just fan noise. The build sheet says it’s fitted and it should have a remote fob (didn’t come with the car!). I don’t know which one to purchase.

I can set the aux heater on the climate function on the touch screen

Can anyone help??

Regards
Mark

It’s under the passenger side wheel arch, sort of under the battery location. There should be a little exhaust sticking down there too. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8
