rear wiper washer

Ok second post on wipers/jets in 1 day Laughing My rear wiper doesn't release any water when its meant to...its been annoying me all day so upon further investigation I've opened upper panel in tailgate..the one that hides the mechanism and rf receiver...

there's a rusty deposit type stain on the plastic and a small collection of water...it appears to be coming from the point where the water inlet meets the assay...can I reseal this or is it simply a matter of buying a new unit?

Whistle You don't need the screws, when you've taken it apart, you can pop the old seal out of the black plastic bit.. The replacement seal will then sit deep in the black bit, and then you can glue it back in place with some epoxy resin (rapid works best, but get the cheap stuff from toolstation Wink )

Also the jets get very blocked on the arm, once the spoiler is off you can pop the jets and just test the water flow.. it should be like a cross eyed five year old Shocked , if not then the non return valve will be blocked ( 2" before the black plastic bit on the wiper motor) Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... This is the stuff that I used http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Adhesives+...sin/p29905

If your going down the glue route you'll need something to degrease with as well, I use brake and clutch cleaner... which is industrial alcohol by another name Wink

Carb cleaner, Zippo lighter fluid (petrol) or cheap and nasty aftershave will do as well Mr. Green Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

England 2005 Range Rover HSE Td6 Cairns Blue

Having read this post and having the same issues myself I decided to give it a go. Washer jets now cleaned and working and the wiper arm lubricated and sitting nicely on the rear window.
New seal installed and no leaks onto parcel shelf.
Thank you so much for taking the time to put this post together so that RR virgins like myself can repair and enjoy these lovely cars.
