Lower Door Trim Fabric Re-Sticking

What started out as a quick look to see why my drivers door mirror wasn't folding or adjusting this afternoon has flushed out a secondary job which might be a bit more involved.

Since I have had the car, just over 6 months now, the drivers door mirror glass has never been able to be adjusted, or the mirror folded (passenger side works fine) and as the puddle light comes on in the bottom when you unlock the car and the mirror dims down when a car with bright headlights in behind you I presumed that the mirror has power and the problem is a dodgy microswitch not proving the position correctly.

I started this afternoon stripping down my mirror from the outside, so all I was left with was the stump with the wires going into the inside of the door. Didn't find anything unusual but in order to get the cable out of the door you need to attack it from the inside. So, light fading I set about having the drivers door card off to get the rest of the mirror off...

No sooner had I got this off I found a plug dangling down which when I traced it back went to the mirror... Damn, should have started from the inside first. Plugged it in and got some noises from the motor when I tried the fold switch so that was an easy fix. Tomorrow is going to be rebuild the mirror and get it back on the car.

As it was now dark I decided to leave the door card install to tomorrow as well especially as I wanted to see if it was easy enough to re-stick the black cloth from the lower door that runs into the door bin back onto the card. There appears to be no easy way into this apart from splitting the door card where the black and parchment bits join under the handle.

Is this the only way in? and how easy is it to separate without wrecking the whole door card?
Final question, if this is the way in, what is the best glue to re-stick the two pieces of door card back together? Mix up some Epoxy Resin was my first option as I had used this previously on sticking some plastic holder onto the door cards for the rear door that had come off when I took that off to see why it was loose.

I did search the forum for door cards and turned up over 9 pages of topics so I am still reading through these and thought it might be quicker to just ask.
