Battery reset

It seams quite simple, turn off, open bonnet wait 10 mins. Remove battery terminals, wait 10 mins. Touch together for a couple of seconds and re connect.............. job done ?????

I keep seeing things like reset the steering sensor, window sensor etc..... So my question is, is it really as simple as the prosess above or will i have all sorts of things going on when i reconnect ???? Ive even read of someone haveing to have there car towed after replacing the batery !!!!

If you have a system that needs a reset, pull it's fuse for 10 minutes..... Land Rover Addict

You can fry your nav computer doing this, especially when you reconnect the battery, if you miss the terminal and it turns on and off in quick succession etc.

It's a last resort thing...

On the 4.2 S/C "R" Jaguar you have to input a specific code after battery replacement (although there is another way Smile). Is this the case with a Jaguar based 2006+ Range Rover?

You should be able to get the part number from microcat... Isn't it an Alpine unit? I believe the DVD unit in my car is different to yours though.
