What I thought was break screeching in slow moving traffic

Only seems to happen in drive, if I coast and drop it into neutral and brake it doesn't seem to do it, it's weird cos I am sure I feel something through the wheel, anyone else had this?

Does it do it if you coast and don't brake? Mine squeal when coasting, then stop when braking. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Most likely to be pad squeal if it doesn't do it in drive when you aren't braking then that pretty much rules out everything else.

No body has found a really good solution to it, I have greased mine with th ceratec grease from Euro car parts and it made it a bit better but didn't get rid of it totally.

Sounds like the brakes need stripping and cleaning them re greasing properly, it should help a bit. Otherwise a good Italian tune up round some back road with a bit of heavy braking will clean up the pad and disc faces nicely. Also cheap and worth a try. Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Try 4-5 60 mph to 0 emergency stops.

This is what is recommended to bed in new pads .

40 grit sandpaper on the face of the discs will counteract any "glazing" of the discs and will rough up the pads too.

If there's is any corrosion on the disc edges, tap it off gently with a hammer whilst there too, just for belts and braces work. '55 Java Black Vogue

I've always been told to avoid heavy breaking for a few miles on new discs and pads until they've had a chance to bed in under gentle/normal braking!

Apparently doing harsh/emergency braking straight away on new discs risks warping them and seriously reduces the life of the brakes.
