Model Confusion.......

Been looking around for my first FFRR (MY2011 or 2012) and am a bit confused on specs.......
I understand the difference between the Vogue and Vogue SE but not sure where the Westminster and Autobiography fit in. Are they both higher specs than the VSE? Looking at ads the Westminster seems to be a tad cheaper elsewhere than VSE? I am assuming the AB is the top spec but don't know what makes it different.....VSE seems to have everything.
Also, wondered why white models seem to be around 2 or 3k more than same spec black ones......
.........my head hurts......!!!

Autobiography is above a VSE. Basically everything inside is leather (dash, doors, roof and other parts) and I think there were a couple of extras. Silver trim on bumper lip and fog surrounds. Although you could spec autobiogray exterior trim on a VSE.

VSE is still a very well spec'd car and depending on what extras the original owner ordered can have more toys.

The Vogue has Oxford leather and piping whereas the VSE and AB have Semi Analine leather which is softer.

Westminster was the last of the models. Comes with Oxford leather. Possibly Semi Analine was an option but not sure.
I always looked at a Westminster as somewhere between a Vogue and VSE.

2012 only had Westminster and AB
2011 was Vogue, VSE and AB

I am happy to be corrected on the info I've given as not 100%

Thanks for the info......useful to know there wasn't a 2012 VSE model so any 2012 VSE's will be the 2011MY spec.

So, narrowed my search now to either VSE or AB, now just have to decide on colours.......

I was in the same place as you last year. A VSE and an AB. Both same age, milage, colour and price.
Only difference was the VSE has 4 zone air con and the AB didn't.

In the end went with the AB due to the PCP numbers as it has a higher GTFV so lower payments.

Good luck with your search. Are you going through main dealer to get 2 year LR warranty?

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 V8 Santorini Black

I have had my 2012 Westmister for a couple of months now.... Love it to bits enough toys to keep me happy.
1200 HK HD surround sound
RSE
Heated / cooled oxford leather seats with black piping

For what it is worth, I had Aniline leather in my Sport (previous car) and it is softer than the Oxford leather, however in my opinion the oxford leather seems more resilient to dirt and scuffs. 2006 RR sport HSE
Swapped for 2012 4.4td v8 Westminster Santori black with Ivory leather
BEEN SMILING EVER SINCE

That's interesting......thought all AB's had 4 zone AC. Sorry Ian, what's GTFV?
Didn't know you got a 2yr warranty from LR dealers......is it actually worth having as I have heard so many horror stories about "so called" comprehensive warranties.

Our AB has separate zones in the back but no idea if that is standard?

GuaranTeed Future Value at a guess Smile

Sit in a couple (OP) as the wall to ceiling leather in an AB might not be too you fancy?

Don't get too stressed though as I found when sitting in ours; I can't remember my 'must haves' that I didn't get any more. They're just awesome!

Enjoy the hunt!

My rear ac has only 1 temp control and 1 fan control.

Effectively the car is 3 zone.
4 zone was an upgrade but as no one sits in the back it isn't really an issue.
Mrs sits there sometimes on long journeys so I don't have to listen to her or the dvd she's watching.

GTFV guaranteed future value.

Basically it's the figure they guarantee you car is worth at the end of your term.
As the AB and VSE I was looking at were both the same price the GTFV was higher on the AB so brought the monthly payments down.

LR approved info here.

2 year LR warranty, 2 year european breakdown, 2 year MoT warranty.

Sometimes they have a deal on where they throw in 2 year servicing with it too. I just missed that but not overly upset as I got the car I wanted.

Thanks Ian

I guess whether its 3 or 4 zone isn't really an issue for me as I won't be the one sitting in the back (EVER!!) Laughing Laughing

I took a look at the LR used site and it only came up with one L322 model, a 2011 Vogue, although from the pics it was clearly a VSE!! They are asking £29k for it which seems a bit high and slightly more than I wanted to spend.

Also, seems there are a number of different "blacks" - I have found Java, Mauritius and Santorini. How different can they be??
