Very sorry to read about your loss. I know I cried my eyes out when Onyx (our black lab) died at the age of 17, then a few months later her daughter Jade died and I said " never ever again, I will not go through this again". Then everytime we saw a Lab my throat was blocked by a huge brick. After 6 weeks we decided to do it all over again. Our Diego is now 7 and I do fear that terrible day I know will come. Wish you strength with all.

Sorry to hear the news Rosco

It is indeed ( for me at least it was ) a simply awful experience to go through. We all know when we embark on the journey how it will end but we do it anyway.

Just try to reassure yourself that you gave her a great life, gave her a good friend and treated her as well as as you did. She will be looking down on you now thanking you for all the years you had together and the good times you spent with her.

A sad day indeed..... But chin up mate..... It does get better in time.

All the best my friend.. Ash

So sorry to hear this Bud. I know exactly how you feel. I lost my Dad in 13, my Mum in 14 and then last august I lost my Border Collie pal of 14 years 'Bluey'. Like you say, the vet can say what they want but only you truly know your own dog.

Also, as you say we end up with another somehow. SWMBO and I were in Wales and saw a sign outside a farm. An hour later 'Sam' was in the car with us going home.

Condolences on your loss. Remember the 9 years and take comfort in the fact that she had the best life possible with you. Thumbs Up

same Censored happened to me 3 years ago. Everything sorted it's self out now except the pain of the loss of my dog Toby. but that's getting easier too. Why the dog hit me the most I don't know.

Cat person here and its just as bad . No stopping the tears when that dreadful day comes. Been dried eyed at the death of a relative yet cried buckets when we lost our last cat.

Well after much (not really) discussion I have taken the plunge and have this beauty below, cant get her to sit still long enough for a proper picture. All black Great Dane, 9 weeks old and already taller than the lab, she is a bloody handful Thumbs Up

Sorry to hear the news mate.

I lost my little girl,a few years ago and still miss her now. She'd been swimming in a river and had a minor stroke and I remember saying goodbye covertly to her one morning. I then text my dad and asked him to take her to the vets for me as I couldn't manage it.

I continued my journey to work however, I drove around the roundabout and met them at the vets then held hear head whilst she fell asleep.

Horrible, and I swore that day I would never get another as it's just too painful.

6 years on and my little 3 year old spaniel is having her tummy tickled as I type.

Take care all.

Very sad indeed, I've just got a new puppy and a 8 yo jack Russell and it's horrible to think that one day they will no longer be around.
