Headlight washer and rear screen washwipe

Two issues on my 2010MY TDV8

1. One of the two washer jet nozzles for the driver's side headlamp has disappeared. Looks like it has just fallen off, not signs of jagged plastic. So, is it possible to snap a new jet nozzle into place, or is it a bumper off replacement of the whole unit?

2. The screen wash function on the rear screen has stopped working. I can hear the pump spinning, but no fluid comes out. Wiper working as normal. I'm guessing a broken or blocked pipe, but haven't a clue where to start looking as everything seems to be tucked neatly away. Any advice gratefully received!

Can't help with the headlamp washer but the rear wash wipe is more than likely a blockage..... the plastic jet part is removable, but you'll need to remove the spoiler first.......

If you open the tailgate top you'll see three bolts (10mm spanner / socket) remove these, then shut the tailgate, the spoiler will then slide forward (towards the back) and lift off. It is a key hole shaped hole, and it is possible to pull to far, so if when it has come towards you it don't want to lift up try easing it back towards the car.

The washer jet assy is part of the cap that covers the wiper shaft and it pops off and hinges up towards the wiper, with a bit of care it is possible to remove it as it's clipped in to the wiper arm. But before you yank it off having freed it from the wiper shaft, try the washer to see if that was the blockage...... if it's not peeing out the back doing impressions of a statue in Brussels, the non return valve will be blocked. This is accessed from inside by pulling the top cover off, it should be in a direction towards the parcel shelf, under there you will find the wiper motor and the hose that feeds the washer, about 2" from the motor there is a plastic lump that's the valve, remove the hose from the side furthest away from the motor, point it at a bucket and get a helper to operate the washer. Oh and be warned that the system pulses several times, wouldn't want to drown the car Embarassed

If the valve is blocked it is possible to separate the valve and clean it.... although this will involve a small screwdriver and blood letting Big Cry when you have got it apart and the bleeding has stopped there is a rubber sleeve on the valve that can be removed then the crud can be removed and then reassemble Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Unnecessary quote removed

Spent the entire afternoon doing this today. Non return I just soaked in hot water, very little brown stuff out of pipe leading up to it. Unblocked nozzles in wiper arm cap. Most of the blockage seemed to be in the black plastic elbow attached to the wiper motor. Poked about in there with a very thin watch makers screwdriver and forced warm water in with an old syringe. Bit of blowing and now all operating although tiny drip is forming around where elbow goes in to wiper motor .

Yes, that was me... are you the black one over the road ? If you're jammed I can show you how to have a go at unblocking. If you're lucky, the inner seal won't have gone. Mine is only a very slight seepage at the moment but although there are great instructions on here as to how to replace the seal, I simply don't have the time to do this at the moment.

Shocked Shocked Andy S, Buddy I strongly recommend an Indy, it will save you heaps of dosh Very Happy

In fact it doesn't have to be a L/R specialist, any garage should be able to sort that for you.... might even be worth seeing if there's a kind sole in your neck of the woods that will help.... I would offer, but I'm way too far away, and the ffrr's very very sick at the moment Big Cry Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
