I've not considered taking the cooler out but have considered disconnecting the inlet pipe and fitting a bung inside it and then reconnecting it. Certainly one way not to have to worry about whether the EGR thermostat is working or not. |

It is absolutely do-able. I cant remember the name of the poster but if you do a search in the AULRO.com l322 section there is a full how to with pictures to remove the whole kit and caboodle using a couple of hose blanking pieces. If I was ever to take the rad and fan out I would do the same. 2007 TDV8 VSE

Thanks Wayneg and all others who contributed to this query. Will be changing a duff? main thermostat in the next weeks so will remove all EGR gubins at the same time. As I have machining facilities will make up the various plugs and exhaust blanking plate required. |

Sorry for the hijack but are you running your td6 with just the fan disconnected or do you have kenlow fitted is there any benefit from having the fan disconnected. |

Ideally you need two viscous fan removal spanners, they are quite long and thin but you need to grip both nuts, one in the pump and the other on the viscous unit and if it's the original unit they are going to be well stuck together 😥 FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
