Help!! I own a 2006 Range Rover 2.9 TDi L322 from new, and experiencing a loss of entertainment / sat nav etc. The usual sudden loss of screen no reversing camera nothing, what do I do next? First thing was to disconnect the main battery, wait five minutes reconnect, bingo screen lights up but display shows “Land Rover” and radio switch button flashing but nothing else…
With a motor that’s built with so many complicated systems on board, namely the “most “system, having read a number of articles that the Nokia phone unit has a reputation of being the culprit, I removed the fibre optic lead from the phone unit and noted that one side had a light beam coming from it but when connected to the phone unit it did not pass through to the next unit. So I presume that could indicate the phone units not working, I checked that the unit had 12 volts to it.
Does anyone know if there is a company ( I live in Bristol UK)that will test these units or any suggestions what to do next the unit interior having been inspected looks totally dry and there’s no sign of dampness anywhere. Does anybody have any idea where I can obtain diagram/circuit drawing that shows the layout and track of the fibre optic circuit? Having had the car from new and with all the booklets and Owners Handbook. I thought I would have enough information to carry out small repairs BUT what a shock when you check the fuse ratings and what fuse should feed what you realise what a waste of time having the book is.

you can bypass the phone unit by using the outside part of a biro....if the other stuff then works then you have found the culprit.. ... - .- -.

I would do the obvious as well, which is put the car on charge over night.

This happened to me a few times when my battery was low.

Hi Stan, that sounds a good idea only problem i have is that it's very difficult to pull the cables out of the socket, I have removed the small locking device in the socket, is it now a matter of pulling ???

Hi Stan ... thanks for the info most of system now working, but had to by pass mobile phone unit and the TMC XRA500031 that supplies the road info ie road traffic. I have lost the 12volt supply ( when tested on bench unit worked) any ideas. where this is fed from ??
