Any one changed pixel ribbon???

As most RR owners suffer from the dash pixel problem. Bought a ribbon for £24. Anyone fitted and will it end in disaster??

the trick is not to damage the connector where the ribbon is crimped as this is where your problem manifests lots of time you can undo this connection remake it and hey presto problem solved

If the ribbon is crimped, how do you remove safely and replace effectively? Is it hard work getting dash pod out and striping to required level?

removing the cluster is straight forward you have to be careful in dismantaling the cluster you will need to drill some plastic rivet heads out use an electric screw driver with a drill bit not a power drill when removing the ribbon use a hair dryer to warm it up to aid removal

Hmmm, it's £90 for someone else to do it. I usually advocate doing things myself, but in this instance I think I would rather someone else took the risk.

Did you remove the needles or drill holes to access the screws? This was the very worst part of the job, as far as I'm concerned.

Think ill go this way when i'm ready to lose driving the car for few days.

With the cluster out of the car for a few days i would like to keep the battery connected for the alarm, will this throw a fault? 2004 black Vogue TD6
