Well, 11 months into ff ownership and it's broken! Luckily it looks like it's only the ignition switch. I've asked Dan for a price for a replacement but while I'm waiting I'll strip it down and spray it with contact cleaner to see if that helps. Other than that I've been absolutely suited with it, it really is a pleasure to own and drive. 😆 |

When mine went it was intermittent, it started most times but then not on others. When it didn’t work I got a strange couple of bleeps from around the key are (very faint) . I replaced the lower half of the switch and had no problems since (touching a large piece of wood at the moment!!) Good old Dan to the rescue!

It's the same syptoms as others have had. Intermittent failure to start. Beeping, whirring and clicking from the the area around the key. Twist the key to off then run repeatedly and it may crank eventually. When it cranks it fires immediately. After doing a search it seems I'm not the only one. Some have cleaned the switch with success and others have replaced it. I have decided to replace it so it won't fail when Mrs me is driving it. |

Yep, sounds about right, there is the outside chance it is the immobiliser, they can fail like that but usually you don't get the beeping with it... new switch should sort it... Pete

Cheers Pete a second opinion on the lines of my thinking is good news. Shame it won't start as I was in your neck of the woods today but had to come in the wife's. Didn't fancy being stranded if it failed. |
