L322 Parts required, who do you recommend?

Hi there,
Just purchased an L322 and need a load of parts, cup holder, door switch panel, Overfinch exterior badges, rear camera, rear wiper, roof rail plastic insert, tow hook, spare key etc. and what ever else my OCD picks up on!!
I know there's fleebay and I've read on here that Dan from Duckworth's is worth a shout, but before I get mugged off buying new, is there another indy LR parts or LR used parts dealer to consider?
Would be grateful for some advice chaps/contacts Thumbs Up

It's always worth a post in the wanted section if you have specific things you're after.

I've always used Dan for new stuff and the for sale section or eBay for anything else.

Cam-Tech-Craig often has bits & pieces too

BTW - what do you mean by 'tow hook' ?

think there should be a tow bar below the rear drivers side fuse box area in the boot?

Do you have the tow bar armature fitted? Looks like the first post on this thread http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic33243.html?highlight=armature

If you don't have it you have no tow bar fitted.

Don't confuse it with the two bars which are fitted on either side at the rear. The right hand one has the lashing eye which can be seen protruding from the underside. They can confuse because they have the Westfalia label on them but are not the full armature required.

If you do have the armature and no hitch then you would need to acquire one. John

Dan at duckworth
AF facotrs
LRDirect

honestly there is an endless list, however I tend to use Dan as his prices are always good, and delivery is free. Bay is good for the odd part but be careful some parts are actually more expensive on there than form the parts factors..... Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Get friendly with your local Land Rover dealer's part department, mine is really helpful.

I would steer clear of island 4x4, they're very cheap and they stuff turns up, but if something is faulty it take ages to get your money back from them.

I use Island4x4 quite often as they have quite a comprehensive website and often if you search by part number you can find parts that are otherwise seemingly unlisted.

And as mentioned above... Many on here have found actually getting a refund is a dreadful experience...

Ive no experience to comment either way but many members find them hard work. And some of what they sell is of a VERY poor quality!!! Rolling Eyes Banging Head Banging Head Banging Head Thud

I agree with that, as with any non OEM parts supplier you have to be selective about the brand you are buying, but their website usually states the manufacturer and often offers different manufacturers and costs for the same part, so you can choose. As with anything you tend to get what you pay for, buyer beware and all that.

That's true, using the search function and a part number will usually bring up a choice of pattern or genuine. And they are very cheap, but have you ever tried getting a refund from them? Or even contacting them with a query? Their phone just rings and rings then times out with a message advising you to email them. But then they don't like replying to emails either!

They state it takes 14 working days to process a refund - WHY?, but mine took a lot longer than that, i was given a whole load of excuses about paypal.

Another comment i'd have about them is (and to be fair they're not the only one that does it) their website only shows ex-VAT prices, unless a retailer deals exclusively with trade customers it's been illegal to show only ex-VAT pricing for a few years now. Which does raise the question, if they're not complying with that law what else aren't they going to comply with?

I wont be using them again in a hurry, after my last experience. Don't get me wrong every one makes mistakes from time to time, but it's how they deal with the mistakes which makes the difference.
