There an old saying that "if you want a job doing. Then do it yourself" and it has stood the test of time with me.
In the days when I had lease cars and company maintained vehicles I used to shudder at the quality of main dealer servicing.
My son worked for a main dealer (Saab) for a couple of years and some of the stories that he told me would scare the pants off you with customer complaints and horror stories. One of the best was when his colleague charged 4 spark plugs to a diesel vehicle because he needed them for a foreigner at the weekend for himself and he got away with it because the owner of the car said "it was running better than ever"

When I service my car I know exactly what has been done..... Whose parts have been used - genuine or copies and what grade and make of oil, and exactly what sort of test drive it had after the service! No rush to fill in a time sheet and get on with the next job.
My last service at a main dealer forgot to reset the service indicator?? What else did they forgetr if they missed that?? When I rang them they said "bring it back and we will do it while you wait!!!" Wtf - I live 37 miles from them that's 20 quid in fuel and a couple of hours of my life and a service that has already cost me 400 quid!
I can get any stamp you like put in the book for 200 quid but it doesn't mean the jobs been done properly !

England 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.2 SC V8 Zermatt Silver

I took mine in yesterday (Land Rover Main Dealer) for a oil change / oil filter /and engine air filter. Was booked in for 8am, it sat outside till about 8:50am then was moved, I collected it at almost 11am . The work had been done plus an in depth vehicle check.
The feed back was :-

1/ Noisy wiper blades should be replaced....... £41.35 incl vat
2/ OSR upper and lower hub bushes slight play.......£659.98 incl vat (parts and labour)
3/ Sit down for this one.. Brake pipe started to corrode needs replacing £27.83 incl vat, labour £2880 incl vat WHY?? "Oh its a body off sir". Can you fit Kunifer anti-rust brake pipes, "Oh no sir we have to use Land Rover parts".

I am not feeling the love at the moment

When I was looking for one for a mate I found two that had had value services, there was no indication in the book it was only when I rang the dealers that it became apparent, I do have to say the dealers were very good at giving out the info... Pete

Your right, no chassis to take a body off!!!! I think the dealer is a bit confused, no need to take anything large off to replace all the brake pipes...

Wouldn't let a main dealer do them, get copper ones fitted at an independent... Thumbs Up Pete

This is what I couldnt understand Haylands,

The "Service Advisor", a very happy, friendly young lady was certain it was a body off, weird.
I still have the b/pipe forming equiment from when I replaced all the pipework on my classic, either do it myself or as you suggest an independant.

Has anyone Polybushed a L322??, i'm interested in if there is any difference in handling, bush life and of course what part numbers to quote.

This car has only done 49k, I know its a heavy old lump but to have suspension bushes start to fail so early is not on, the rear arb bushes are original and still very good so doubt much off roading been done or frequent high speed cornering.

It's been asked a few times before about Polly Bushing on an L 322 and anyone who has done it will say the same thing , don't do it ! ruines the compliant ride and they won't last . The bushes on the L322 are excellent and can't be beaten I think it must have been one of the things BMW got spot on when they spent the billion dollars developing the car and nothing like the problems they have with the Disco and Spert . 2008 MY Supercharged

They are supposed to, write something like "Value Service", "Not to manufacturer specifications", "To joe bloggs specifications" (joe bloggs being the name of the dealer). Or they can stamp it with a non-Landrover stamp. So it might say "Joe Bloggs Landrover Specialist" without the actual LR logo, or the word "Approved" on it. That's how it works with most marques main dealers, but most of them also don't bother writing anything different in the book or using the generic stamp, but even if they do you can see how they can use a very slightly different stamp to the 'genuine' one or put wording on it that implies it was a LandRover service without actually specifying it. So they might use a stamp with "Joe Bloggs - Land Rover main dealer" because they are an LR main dealer, but it doesn't have the LR logo, or it has their own logo only. Anyone looking at it will just assume because they're a main dealer it was done to LR spec. You often see it in various marques service books, you'll have lets say Joe Bloggs Ford stamps up until year 3 or when ever the warranty runs out, then you see "Joe Bloggs Ford Main Dealer" after that. Sneaky!

I've had a lot of experience of them on minis, the same principles apply to any car. Poly bushes are better than rubber in terms of longevity for bushes in locations that tend to perish before they wear out, but they're worse than rubber for just about everything else.

They don't isolate noise so well as rubber, they don't deal with heat so well, they're always much harder and less springy so in suspension arms they make the ride harsher and transmit road noise through the body. Poly engine mounting are atrocious, may as well just solid mount the thing.

There is a reason virtually all manufacturers use (more expensive) rubber bushes and not cheap to produce Poly ones.

I know you struggle to find them in black!

I fitted some poly rocker cover bushes (bolt seals) on my mini once, i thought they'd be more oil resistant - bloody things melted and ran down the outside of the rocker cover with in about 10 miles!

I do have some exhaust hangers, they've lasted well, but they're only on the back box so don't get too hot, they must be 15 years old now.
