My Vreds always wore badly on the front outer edges - about an inch into the tread.

I think you hit the nail on the head, assuming your front suspension geometry is OK. You should also consider that these heavy machines can corner quite well, but the higher the speed, the greater the tyre scrub, so driving style could/will also contribute. Braking on the turn will do it, I know this after wearing out some expensive BF Goodrich tyres that way.

That's one thing I don't do. Destabilising a heavy car mid-corner is a scary thing.

My driving style could also be called 'enthusiastic' but I also try not to change speed through bends.

Swap them side to side before moving them to the rear.

most FF tyres are asymmetrical Will, ie they will have the word 'outside ' written on the side wall... ... - .- -.
