MOST Gremlins

My MOST system has been invaded by gremlins Evil or Very Mad

I've posted on other threads about the cause - the damn Bluetooth module.

Since the Bluetooth module packed in I've bodged a bypass and brought a bypass plug off ebay (waste of £35) - the Bic worked just as well.

Battery has been disconnected and reconnected - made no difference to the problem Neutral

I'm at the stage now where the system will boot up and turn off without hanging on the LR badge - but I cant select the TV or CD. The radio works fine - apart from the volume knob?

I've been through the diag mode which recognises that a device is missing from the MOST loop, shows the TV static when checking the video inputs and when testing the hard keys the volume knob works. All connections to the various devices seem tight and solid. I've left the BT module unplugged.

I'm wondering if the pin out cable for the BT module can be jumped?

But cant work out why having a device 'missing' would affect the CD/TV?

I've downloaded the fuse diagram from xtremelandy - though these don't seem to match my 2005 MY L322.

I've pulled every obvious relevant fuse in the in car diagram but no joy and am content that the CD player works - when the fuse is pulled and re-inserted I can hear it cycling through the CDs.

Any ideas anyone Question

Thanks Smile

Why not simply replace the broken BT module? Your symptoms are quite normal for a broken unit sir... Thumbs Up

Stan,

Thanks mate, i've flicked through it before it was useful in pinning down some of the issues and - there is a diag one too:
http://www.rangerovers.net/forum/9-range-r...stics.html

Cam-Tech-Craig,

Mate - that's the plan - I'm considering the 'upgrade' as covered on Disco3 if only to get rid of the gremlins (didn't really use BT even when it did work)

Still baffled that a missing/bypassed module could cause the current gremlins - it seems that the MOST master is working?

I'm left thinking that the cable for the BT module is knackered/shorting (the module had at some stage got wet) - everything Is bone dry back there now and there is no sign that its been wet recently - there is minor corrosion in the BT socket - in exactly the same place as depicted on the FFRR section of:
http://www.bluetoothexchange.co.uk/

Which is why I was wondering if the cable could be jumped at all - a pin out would be useful if anyone knows where I can get one?
