2005 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.2 SC V8 Zambezi Silver

AC clutch not engaging

My AC clutch apparently isn't engaging, last week it had a new condenser fitted and a re gas and all worked well until sunday when no cold air coming out.
Had it to the garage where they fitted the condenser and, it's full of gas but is showing two faults
air quality sensor and line fault ( clutch I assume )
All fuses are OK.
Any ideas ?.

The guy said that a connector near the compressor is " bright orange" like its been too hot ??.

i'd re-check the connections to make sure they are plugged in properly.. ... - .- -.

Thanks Stan, I will check this when I get a minute.
I was thinking could it be a compressor relay ?, if so where would it be located.

Check you have power at the connection the clutch engagement mechanism (the wires coming out of the compressor) should switch on with the ac. If you have power there then the clutch mechanism is duff. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

There isn't a relay, it's fed from the A/C control unit directly.
As said above, check for power at the connector with the A/C engaged (you need to back probe the connector) then disconnect and check for resistance of the clutch coil to ground. It should be around 3 ohms. Outside of that then the wiring to the coil could be at fault or the clutch coil itself has gone.

Ive unplugged it and tested the voltage to it & its getting 9.4 volts.
So I put a 12 volt supply straight to it from the battery & nothing, the clutch won't engage.
Think its time for a new compressor.
What kind of price are they typically and how long to fit one ?.
