I take it you have had wheels balanced?

The rears when seized heat up the rear wheel on the offending side too, so can easily be checked by one wheel being hot |

In that case change front wheels to rear and try again? Worst case, can you get/borrow another set of wheels to try?

The discs are Eicher and the pads Pagid! On inspection they seemed to be ok with no uneven wear or scoring. |

I had the front disc checked with a dial gauge, this showed that the discs were out of true.I have had them replaced and now the brake shudder has been sorted.
