Electrical Relay No Longer Wanted

I am after Relay 132 shown on Page 18 0f http://www.fullfatrr.com/gallery/albums/us...001_UK.pdf wonder if anyone who has perhaps changed from ignition switched to continuous live has still got the relay.

Failing that a pointer to where one can be obtained would be appreciated. TY. John

That just shows a wiring diagram, not what the relay physically looks like.

I would have thought it's a standard relay - I can't believe they would make specific relays for individual jobs.

Do you know where it plugs in ?

Is there a similar looking one close by ?

I have posted a picture on this thread http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic32392.html

There are other relays next to it but they all appear to have different ratings.

I agree that the circuit diagram doesn't show what it physically looks like. The other difficulty is that it is not clear whether the description "Relay 132" is merely a vehicle specific numbering. If I search on "Relay 132" I get pictures of relays with lugs on them so I think it is probably just a numbering system for the vehicle. John

The green relays are just bog standard 5 pin relays available everywhere... Pete

Thanks, Pete. Thumbs Up Will get on to getting one. It's just that there are so many opportunities for electrical glitches on th FF that one gets a bit paranoid. Crying or Very sad John

Agree - the connections look like a bog standard relay - should be available from pretty much any car parts shop

Can't see from the f]photo is there is a centre pin - so it's either 4 or 5 pin

Just checked, it's 5 pin. Interestingly the others in the photo are all 4 pin so lack a centre pin. The bridge in the photo goes between the top pin and the centre pin. John

Hmmm - that seems very bizarre indeed....... or maybe I'm just being dumb.....

A car relay typically has the 2 side pins in your picture as the coil so one side would be ground & when the other side gets +12v it operates the relay like a switch - they would be labeled 85 & 86

The front pin is the common (labelled 30)- and the relay connects that to either the centre pin (87a) by default, then switches it to the rear pin (87) when operated. So under normal conditions the centre & rear pins would never connect together so I can't figure out what that bridge is there for.

On the circuit diagram, the other side of the relay is not connected to anything - only 4 connections to it.

With the bridge removed there is no power to the sockets. As above, the other relays are 4 pin. The socket with the bridge is the only one which has a pick up on the centre pin. The other relay sockets have a blank receiver ( no metal showing) at the centre pin. John

An update. Having slept on it I had a thought (not too painful Smile ) so removed one of the 4 pin relays and put it in in place of the bridge. Result - ignition switched sockets.

From that, as I finally suspected, it would appear that LR have put in a 5 pin socket which means they can either use a 4 pin relay for ignition switching or a bridge between 87 and 87a to have permanent feed.

Will get a 4 pin relay tomorrow. Very Happy John

That would make some kind of sense - both front & centre pins could be +12v - so even with a 5 pin relay, it would work OK

Not that it really matters - you've found the solution Thumbs Up
