Taken today on the M25 - granted I wasn't in a hurry but when you compare this MPG to my previous 4.4 V8 BMW petrol Range Rover its positively frugal ! |

My 2003 4.4 never got past 18mpg - and that was down hill with a prevailing wind 😀 we don't buy these for fuel economy but I was pleasantly surprised with what the 2011 5.0SC is retuning. "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

A trip from Yorkshire to the south coast down the M6 and M5 last year got me a full 25mpg in my 4.4 bmw engine although I was going at a steady 65mph.It does make me laugh however when you spend 75 grand on a motor,£400 tax ,who knows what to insure and I dread to think what the depreciation is ,why on earth would you be worried what it did to the gallon.I for one ,if I could afford a newer 5.0 wouldn't give a damn if it did 5mpg!!!! |

My jag has the 4.2 litre version of the engine and only weighs 1600 Kg as its all aluminium, but the best I've ever got out of it is 20MPG |
