Recommended product to detail plastric trim

Does anyone have a favoured cleaning product for the external black trim (mirror casings, mudflaps and side running boards).

Got a few different ones and trialing each on a small section.

Used an AG product on a mini a while back and it didn't do well over time so would prefer to use something people know to work well.

Thanks in advance.

I use the AG Rubber and plastic spray, last a decent time and isnt too shiny.

Sometimes go over the mudflaps and lower plastics with the Turtle Wax clear spray that's for tyres but its messy stuff and kills the suds when you next wash the car. Discovery 4 HSE

If you want the Rolls Royce of trim restorer then this is the stuff... very expensive but a little goes a very long way and it lasts for years...

I did my mirrors with Auto Glym silicone resin polish a few days ago, as someone pointed out that the plastic may be painted at the factory. Mine are all black now and don't have ant light grey bits...... I'd try that first ant take it from there. Trust you have some car polish to hand..... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Autoglym bumper an trim gel. On the Mirror casings, and black bits of the bumper, works well for me, some times takes a couple of treatments for it to take full effect, but then it seems to last 4-6 months.

For the Black plastic bits on the A, B, C, D posts, i just used ordinary Autoglym resin polish (the body work polish), brings those up a treat.

(i always use Autoglym, because it's the only 'system' that's easy to source, ie in Halfords. And it's also made in the UK)

Thanks guys for all the tips.

That C4 is very good but RR not in bad shape so looking for something to keep it good at moment.

AG gel didn't do well over time on my mini, kind of built up and ended up in a mess. Mini place said seen that before, akin to the acid wheel cleaners that attach the lacquer over time.

Anyway, got some AG spray rubber and plastic on some test areas and looking good so will go with that.

Thanks again for your help.

Andy

AG Bumber gel for me too. Small amount goes a long way. Black come up deep and sheen can be controlled with time left before buffing. Techniq stuff is silly money and IMHO the results do not justify the money. 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

I find that Armorall does the trick and can be used on most plastic surfaces. 2005 L322 Vogue Gold gone

Hey Mods,

Shouldn't this post to be in the Fifty Shades of Grey thread?

Or is my mind starting to wander again? Whistle
