Replacement reversing camera

I have a late 2006 Vogue with touch screen, my reversing camera is damaged and needs replacing. Does anybody know what the replacement code is. I understand that a camera off a 2010 model is an updated version but no sure if it's a straight swap LR031812 ?

according to microcat there are 2 depending on vin,

XVI500120PNP CAMERA, MOUNTS IN SPOILER, REAR VIEW CAMERA-FIXED (V)6A000001 (V)6A216969
XVI500180PNP CAMERA, MOUNTS IN SPOILER, REAR VIEW CAMERA-FIXED (V)6A216970

don't know if the 2010 -> camera will fit, but i doubt it...... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ

Bought one off ebay, 15 €

Tested it and works great, but when I was pulling the cables to finish the job, one of them snapped Big Cry

I had to buy another, so it'll be fitting time this weekend.
All in all, 30€ for a camera.
Better off than the 700+ they charge you for an original Shocked

One of these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231390415722?_tr...EBIDX%3AIT

The image seems perfectly fine.
I'm leaving active the option that they have to have guide lines (even though they don't move, they look nice)
I tried to fit the camera inside the original housing, and it fits ok, but in the end I think that the job is not clean enough (I'm not that handy), and as the camera goes under the spoiler, I will just fit it on its own.

Thanks. Do you connect to existing wires or rewire?

You need to chop and connect them.

You can chop them before the plugs and use the existent plugs.
I stripped the power wires before the power plugs.
The video, I made a mistake and chopped it after the plug, so I had to do a direct connection.

The image is Ok, not hidef, but ok.
At night, compared to the original, which was very dark, this one is very bright.
