Me and my business partner bought our 4.2's at the same time, his suffered from this issue early on and was 'updated', mine did it after about 50,000 miles and again, it was updated. I seem to recall it was something to do with fuel grade, are you using standard fuel or the 'super' fuel? I was advised to stick with 95 RON (I think that was it as it was a while ago). I think the RON rating for that is too high - it is ok to run on it now and again but the main diet should be standard unleaded, that's what the UK spec ECU is expecting, 95 RON Land Rover Addict

It suggests that the SC doesn't need tank after tank of 99 RON + of Shell VPower Nitro +

4 weeks since putting BG in the tank and 3 weeks since converting from Shell V Power Nitro+ to Shell Save (standard) unleaded and the system too rich, system too lean warnings have gone.

I got a gallon of this stuff for my Diesel but kept forgetting to put it in, didnt seem to make any difference for me. I only bought it after reading a thread on here, I just get Tescos cheapest now just as I have been doing for the last 20 odd years with no problem - just lucky I guess Geoff |

I only tried BG after researching around the rich and lean warnings, hoping it might banish the warnings along with a MAF sensor clean and changing to standard fuel. |
