I watch TG religiously... Don't like everything they do but find it enjoyable as a whole... As said above "if you don't like it, don't watch it" but for god sakes... Stop whining about it! Just press the off button Very Happy Thumbs Up

^^ Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

There is only so much I can take of him but he is an eccentric, says what many people think (but won't admit) and is the last of a generation of characters who are not moulded into the PC brigade.

Go on to YouTube and watch old TGs with Chris Goffey, Jason Dawes, Maggie Dustbin etc. it doesn't get much more drab....

As said before, if you don't like it, turn it off or switch over to "Call the Midwife"... 2006 4.2 SC

I hope he stays. Love the show and hate the PC brigade that trot out what people can and can't say.

Still a show I look forward to seeing. Watched fifth gear in the week, slow format and blatantly trying to relate to the public. I watch tv for escapism not for reality.

My opinion but I think he's great.

Agree Thumbs Up

I think I must have got tired of TG as I don't watch it anymore, unfortunately just at the moment the over simplistic "just turn it off brigade" are wrong because you can't. It's on every news programme and fills 5 pages on this forum Shocked it will fade away I'm sure then we can get back to real news and excercising choice as to wether to watch and hence enrich the oafish lout and his mates or not. Geoff

The "just turn it off brigade" are referring to the TG programme itself I think....

Yes, it's all over the news at the moment but that will be tomorrow's fish and chip paper - It will soon all be blown over.

And if it was not Clarkson on the news, do you really think it would have been anything more enlightening? I'll tell you what it would have been, it would have been Ed Millibdand doing his "Hey, I am a normal guy" routine......

Watching Clarkson stumbling back from the Chelsea game after a few beers (allegedly) is far more entertaining (to me!) than the "Vote for Ed" we would have otherwise had. 2006 4.2 SC

I'm getting tired of seeing it as I do watch the news regularly, however like SKOT says it won't last.

I tend not to watch any program that involves the public voting, or any reality stuff (I include TG in the latter), However I do like seeing Ed at work in Wheeler Dealers and I like seeing Fuzz and Tim at work in Car SOS.

Any and all of them have film crews that we pretend not to see - are we stupid?

I think I'm turning into Victor Meldrew in my old age - however I will be taking part in the greatest public voting extravaganza on May 7th. Geoff

I watched the Boat that Rocked again last night and I couldn't help thinking about the BBC when the minister and his stooge were in the scenes. They (the BBC and their masters in the UK government) have been after him for being PC for a long time and although I still hate the racist remarks or inferences, the rest is not an issue as it is free speech, his opinion etc. I mean there are political parties that legally spout worse stuff out there then JC does.

Pulling the show off air is very much like trying to bully the pirate radio stations into submission in the 60's. I still think there is the factor of contract negotiations coming up but they may overplay their hand here. They may find out that JC jumps to another, more lenient broadcaster and still do what he does and make packets, just not for the BBC and the UK government by extension Smile. Maybe that is just better for everyone anyway. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Here's Noel Edmonds' take, below. I applaud his reasoning.

Lets face it they make very funny comedy satires about the sort of people that run the BBC. Cappuccino committees and leather satchels . Soft jobs and politically all up their own ship canals....
