Does it have one of those misfuelling devices. I had a loan Sport which had it triggered an had the same fuelling problem until I realised what was wrong. |

It may only be partially deployed too, so ask your brother if he can see any of the yellow plastic device when looking down the filler nozzle...

There's also the breather pipe issue which I had on my old TDV8. Turn the handle upside down so the trigger is upwards and the pipe is almost vertical. Seems to fill fine that way. |

+1...always fill mine with the nozzle upside down and only 'clicks' off when it's really full. GONE 2010 Facelifted 3.6 TDV8 - Stornoway Grey + 22" Overfinch Olympus

So glad I'm not the only one who has problems filling. It's been driving me mad, never thought of the inverted handle approach, will give this a go on the way home. |

The yellow plastic tool for resetting the misfuelling device should be in the boot, next to the spare wheel. Mine seems to need resetting occasionally, I must be ham fisted with the fuel nossle.

I think many us have been caught out by the filler guard widget thingy. |

I tried the upside down technique as well for the first time last time. That was the first time since buying that I've managed to fill without it stopping. |
