'07 S/C DVD player compatibility with discs

Had my first long drive in the FFRR yesterday and kids wanted to watch their DVD's. These dvd's all previously played in the alpine DVD player - roof mounted in my departed Disco 3. I get a message on screen "Video system not correct" for 5 of the 6 discs and the 6th one which was a home made DVD in proper DVD format does play. If that makes sense. But AFL Grand Final not everyones cup of tea.

The discs that didn't work were an assortment of DVD's and some from Bali - cheapies.

What can I do? Is there a replacement unit I can put in place of the rear player that is compatible or perhaps some other solution. If I could somehow get a USB connection to plug in my kids' External Hard rive, that would go a long way to solving it, but the rest of the DVD's still no way of playing.

Thanks in advance for tips.

IncrediSonic Ultra Play IMP150 - HD TV Digital Mini Media Player - 1080p - Play any file from USB HDDs/Flashdrives/Memory Cards

You can try to use a media player such as this one thru the auxilliary input.
Just load your movies on an sd card or a thumb drive and plug into the media player.

Hi Urotex, that sounds a good idea, thanks for that one. I will explore this further. Looks like it has good merit.

Upon further thinking, I think the issue with my various discs is partly caused by some of them being the wrong 'region' to the region requirement by the player. Is this a possibility? I'll experimet some more.

Is there a replacement dvd player that is multi regional and can plug straight into the same connectors as the current one?

Pete.

I sorted this out. Was simply a matter of toggling from PAL to NTSC disc format. At least for some of the previously not playing disc's that resolved it.
