2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Java Black
Tyres - which wear first? front or back?

Generally,
Which wear fastest?
I have 5mm at front and 8/9mm at rear so I am thinking about rotating the tyres and then change all 4 next year...that is, if the fronts wear the most!

I wear my front ones a lot quicker than the back despite it being a four wheel drive.. I tend to find the corners and roundabouts seem to remove most rubber Wink

Now how to rotate the tyres without ending up with a RR on my head!

What's peoples thoughts on this? Leave the NSF tyre on (and take the wear) therefore saving other tyres, or rotate wheels, to even out wear?
Seems a shame to ruin all four tyres, on the outer edges.

I suppose the tyre (if not directional) could be turned, therefore wearing on both sides, evening out the wear on the one tyre. Question

easiest way is to jack one side front up, stick a axle stand under there then jack up the same side rear..do one side then the other,,btw dont try and use the supplied scissor jack, its pants..use a trolley jack. ... - .- -.

firstly i would be tempted to have a four-wheel alignment check done to make sure the its ok...you could turn on the rim so that the worn edge runs out on the other side ,it all depends how bad it is .. ... - .- -.

2-3mm over 7K of motoring (on the one edge). It's not to bad, just noticeable

mine always seem to wear out all at once whether they are Michelin Goodyear or Vreds - not many roundabouts or city driving where I go though...

Interestingly I just had some tyres changed to different rims, the tyre fitter put the tyres back on, with the more warn side on the inside of the rim.
May have been coincedence of coarse.

Nice idea Richcl - but not only are the Craptinentals that Tim referred directional - the outside edge is indicated on each tyre (Pattern of manufacturers script, Tyre size etc. is different on the inside/outside wall).
