Hi, I have recently ascquired a '07 S/C and am now faced with wheel cleaning every couple of weeks. Car sits in garage most of time but just short running so far it is obvious this will be an issue.

I previously had a '05 D3 V8 HSE and I fitted the Akebon ceramic pads and they were great, the wheels would never need cleaning before the car needed cleaning anyway - sometimes months apart. When I look on the Akebono web catalogue, they do a rear pad only but not the fronts where the problem exists.

Has anyone found a supplier of front pads for Brembo calipered cars ('07 in my case) where they're ceramic pad material?

Hopefully someone out there has.

Yes thanks Craig i did a review through the site with a search on this and plenty of people saying the same problem and I saw some suggestion of Ferrodo pads but nothing explicit about a ceramic pad anyone has found.

I will keep looking.

There are a million or two posts relating to squeaking/squealing front brakes too using NON genuine front pads... Worth reading too sir

EBC Redstuff pads

Run them with my Brembos, and while not completely dust free, they are a low dust pad. So much so, my rear pads are OEM Ferodo, and the back wheels dustup much quicker, and much more than the fronts

Or like me have it washed every week

the only ceramic pad i've found for the SC with brembos is the ebc greenstuff 6000 series....the greenstuff 2000 series which some sell are only for vehicles up to 200 bhp and as we know the SC is 390 bhp..
i havent any personnel experiance of either btw. ... - .- -.

Gone, Ford Explorer 4.0 V6 petrol,

Gone, Daimler sovereign 4.0,
Raced, more mk1 & 2 granada's, A60's mk1 cortina's and mk 3 zodiacs than i can remember!

Redstuff are a ceramic pad, as indicated by the "C" suffix after the part number

I run Redstuff up front, with OEM Ferodo in the rear. Ironically, it's the OEM pads that are squeaking

That said, the ceramic pads do tend to squeak for a little while, until the pads bed in. This can be overcome with a few heavy stops

It doesn't say they are not suitable, it says they are not made for 4x4/SUV's, which clearly is not the case here

I have run them in my D3 for 25k miles, and they are around 25% worn, if that.
Over and above, they have improved the braking no end (though this was going from a standard D3 non-Brembo setup) with much, much less dust

Never heard a bad word said about Redstuff on this forum, and RRS
