Since Im driving around a lot more in the dark, I have noticed every other oncoming car is flashing there lights at me on full beam, when I flash my lights back at them they stop it. I have concluded that this isn't some weird dogging ritual so I need to work out why my lights are blinding other road users, mainly cars. I also notice some cars that are in front of me are adjusting there rear view mirrors as I get close to them, same thing is happening, Im blinding them.

On motorway driving in the dark I can see my lights against the road signs appear to be slightly bouncing up and down yet the headlamps are in fitted solid, no movement.....

The motor is a MY05 with a 2006 facelift, headlamps were bought off Craig as a pair (from a TDV8 I think)

Anybody know whats going on here ?

having a 'facelift' makes me think its part of the problem ...did you do it yourself and have you re-checked all the connections.. ... - .- -.

No I didnt do it myself Stan, a friend of mine did it for me, who has been a very good mechanic for over 30 years. All wiring was done to a professional standard and has been working for over 6 months with no problems at all.

There was 1 minor issue with the alarm when it was being done but that was sorted out after a lot of head scratching, other than that theres been no noticeable problems.

Its almost like the lights inside the headlamps are pointing to high and have slight physical movement up & down, I can live with that if needs be but the blinding everyone all the time has to be corrected.

Run it into an MOT station and ask them to check for you if they are set up correctly? Probably won't charge you either

Ok will try that but if they turn out to be pointing to high is there an adjustable 'thing' to correct it ?

There are two 6mm allen key adjustment points on the top back of the headlamp assembly as you look down on the assembly from above. The one on the inner side (i.e. furthest from the wing) does the vertical adjustment and the one on the outer side (i.e. closest to the wing) does the horizontal adjustment.

Should be able to get a garage to adjust them, can be done yourself but it can be a right faff. Any garage with a light beam setting machine can do it.

Funny that this post should appear, I'm having the exact same problem. Facelift was done in the summer and I've hardly driven the car at night time. I've been flashed a few times this week and yes have noticed people adjusting their rear view mirrors. I will try to set the beam up a bit better tonight

The public are now free (or free'er) from my blinding light attack against them.

Headlight beams are now visible on the road in front of me

Who did your conversion? Why were your lights not set to MOT standard within the job

The conversion was done by myself, as a hobby I restore landrovers and dabble with motorsport preparation. I decided to spend a bit of time on my FF which I was planning to get rid off. I did inspect the beam pattern but not to MOT standards, then the car went in for a full respray, I had it back for a few weeks but didn't really drive it much. Then I went out of the country for a month for work & holiday. I'll put this one down to experience and it will be having the beams setup by an mot approved facility

Glad to hear you're not blinding everybody on the roads, spent 15 mins last night adjusting my headlights as well, cos I don't like being blinded and no one else does!!
