@Haylands...Pete. I think that would be a good idea to change them both out as they cant be that expensive (hopefully hint hint Dan)

I wonder if the OEM has been improved / reinforced it in that corner area? as the split seems to occur in the same area for most owners AFAIK.

Those hoses are prone to splits. Mainly if you do a lot of motorway driving.
Mine have gone now for the 2nd time.

If you want to get hands dirty, you can do it yourself.

More rare, but which can also split, are the hoses next to the throttle bodies, in the manifold.
