What to watch out for with a facelifted/converted FF?

Morning
I'm still in the market for a FF, and have been biding my time looking for the right one.
A 2005 has caught my eye, which has had a 2011 facelift/conversion.
Photos look good, and I'm probably going to go along to have a look tomorrow with a very savvy landrover mechanic friend and PLD118s buyers guide/notes.

With facelift/conversions, is there anything additional/specific I should be looking out for?
I seem to remember a thread or comment about front fog lights being problematic, but may be mistaken.....age is catching up with me.....

Thanks in advance...

I guess making sure all the electrics work as expected is a good start.

Also, the panel gaps for the new front bumper should be as per factory spec. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
Had- 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in Java black
Had - 2007 S/C in Stornoway Grey

might be worth reading through all the conversion threads and get an inkling to whats involved in doing one , this way you'd have an idea of what to expect..

and as Alan says check all the lights work properly.. ... - .- -.

I would also suggest checking the headlight washers work correctly. I've read a few threads where the headlight washers don't work properly (or at all) when the facelift has been done.

I believe that with the xenon headlights, the washers are needed as part of the MOT test requirements.

Hi, I have just completed a conversion and would agree with everything above, Check all lights pay special attention to rear fog light function. have a look at headlight connectors and see how neat the work on the wiring is also check front PDC works as it should, the area where the front bumper meets the curve of the wing is a little awkward to get right so look around that area and I think a good conversion should have the later inner wing liners fitted and not old ones cut to fit. hope this helps.

Thanks all for the tips, particularly on the wing liners - just the sort of thing I was looking for.
Won't be seeing it today after all as the person selling is out. I phoned and had a conversation with them yesterday and was speaking about dash pixels, electrical gremlins, and he mentioned that everything worked, with the exception of the heated steering wheel light is not coming on.
Car is a 54 plate Vogue - was that standard?

Yes it should be standard, but they do have working issues due to a control box fitted inside the steering wheel Thumbs Up

When you look at the car, check the common water ingress area's in the boot and whilst your there, look at the small loom going to the rear light (especially on the drivers side) and see the quality of the wiring mods (if any?)

For example, we do not change the wiring, add boxes etc when we convert FF's (as i personally think resistors can be a fire hazard) something to pay close attention too before purchasing... Thumbs Up
