United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Baltic Blue

GG, i cant comment on the SC...yet, looking for one, had an RRS TDV8 and was glad to see the back of it, only a personal opinion bit the TDV8 seems to have too many issues for my liking, use man maths, a turbo or pair of turbos will take you 10 years to recoup over the SC ( based on your £300 saving per year), also you will be doing mostly short, start stop journeys which I believe, and someone correct me, is not good for that engine Thumbs Up

Hmmm, never really thought about the stop start of Guernseys roads. Do the TDV8's have a diesel particulate filter? Maybe over the life of the vehicle it would be cheaper to have a SC.

I'm torn......... I'd kiss the ground for the welcome sound of me mother sayin 'Hinny Howay'

Do you have commission on sales of SC's Mr. Green

I think you are convincing me Rosco. Do you know the real world MPG of a SC? I'd kiss the ground for the welcome sound of me mother sayin 'Hinny Howay'

I did question the rationale of a diesel on Guernsey, although you seem to be heading in the right direction Very Happy

My S/C is so far between 16 and 18 mpg although up to 21 on a decent journey... 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE

I would only have a SC where you live really, the 4.4TDV8 does have DPF and on short journeys its not good. I was only talking today to my indie about them and the post office have them on their vehicles and they are causing untold problems. As for MPG it again depends on your style of driving but i would guess at 14-20 on your roads. I'm only getting 20 out of my 4.4TDV8

Go for the SC Thumbs Up 2020 Porsche Panamera Turbo Hybrid (V FAST)

At the minute, on Guernsey, im getting between 35 and 40 mpg with my 2ltr Golf GTTDI. On a run to the North East, the MPG touched 60 last trip!! Im not particularly fussed about which FFRR i go for, the only reason I wanted the TDV8 is because it was better MPG - but im being convinced on here that the SC would be a better buy especially for the stop start nature of Guernseys roads I'd kiss the ground for the welcome sound of me mother sayin 'Hinny Howay'

I've had both and because I do fairly big miles - around 13-14,000 per year, the TDV8 makes much more sense for me. In saying that, the price of the SCs is dropping like the proverbial, so who knows what's next.

Thats what I was thinking Alan, plus if the maintenance costs are less, will it be better to take the hit on the MPG of the Supercharged over the repair bills for the TDV8.

Thanks to this forum, I have exactley no idea in what is best Mr. Green

Seriously though, all of youy guys have been a big help. Suppose ill have to consult SWMBO to get the final say so!!
Wish me luck!! Thumbs Up I'd kiss the ground for the welcome sound of me mother sayin 'Hinny Howay'
